While carelessly moving your
hand over your hair curly hair, you find that something is wrong with the
scalp. You feel that certain areas of the scalp are dry and irritated. Look in
the mirror, you see small, red, dry patches develop on the scalp. Another thing
striking is that shedding the scalp is called dandruff flake white. A scalp
flakes of dry spots shows the appearance of various scalp problems, some of
which are discussed below. Take a look.
Eczema of the scalp
In eczema the head meets,
usually the scalp shows red spots, scaly and itchy. Dry scalp showing through
even eczema, scaly skin, followed by the formation of the eruption. In addition
to these symptoms, eczema of the scalp causing dandruff excessive. No wonder
itchy eczema of the scalp terribly. The bubbles that may break the skin rash to
form seep fluid. Development of eczema of the scalp, which is also known as
seborrheic dermatitis, has been attributed to a fungal infection of the scalp.
The fungus, commonly referred to "Malassezia" as are on the scalp.
Too much sweat and climate change lead to the growth of fungi blind, eventually
leading to the occurrence of eczema of the scalp.
Actinic keratosis
Actinic keratosis, marked
usually by red scaly patches, is the result of frequent sun exposure over the
years. Sun-damaged areas of the head scaly skin lesions can be and have a
wart-like appearance. The irradiation with ultraviolet light is always
perfectly capable of irreversible damage in skin cells, which leads to the
occurrence of AK lesions. The ability of actinic keratosis lesions as malignant
can not be ruled out rotating.
Psoriasis of the scalp
This is a medical condition of
the skin in which skin cells are reproduced at an abnormally high rate. The new
skin cells generated exceed those that fall outside of the top layer of skin.
Consequently, new skin cells accumulate in large numbers on the skin surface.
If this excessive accumulation of skin cells of the scalp meets, then thick,
dry, silvery-white spots are clearly visible. Red lesions may develop on the
affected area of the scalp. Scalp psoriasis is the result of a malfunction of
the immune system that triggers the rapid growth of new skin cells.
Ringworm
Circular sores on the scalp
ringworm may also be due to infection. It is caused by the fungus species that
caused by moths. The infection is often effected in children, absorbs around
scaly patches to appear on the scalp. Apart from the scalp, the infection
spreads even to the hair shaft (packets that contain the hair root) interferes
with the growth of hair in the scalp. No wonder show, people affected by scalp
ringworm affected circular pattern on the scalp. This is a contagious and that
people in direct contact with a person with ringworm can develop this
infection.
Be a fungal infection
responds, ringworm of the scalp very well to antifungal agents that need to be
taken orally for a period of time. Medicated shampoos are often recommended to
treat scalp psoriasis and eczema. Common ingredients in these shampoos are
selenium sulfide, medical, salicylic acid and ketoconazole. Oil-based products
can also be applied to the scalp at bedtime to promote the elimination of dead
skin cells and reduce inflammation. On the other hand, the lesions of actinic
keratosis removed with either cryotherapy (freezing with liquid nitrogen cold)
or surgically scraped with special equipment. Other treatment options for
actinic keratosis include the use of anti-cancer drugs such as topical
fluorouracil to kill precancerous cells of actinic keratosis helps.
A notable point is that the
scalp disorders including eczema and psoriasis-like symptoms (red, scaly skin)
have, and are therefore not easy to distinguish. The diagnosis is made after a
careful examination of the scalp. Psoriasis is a chronic, tends to have denser
scales and it takes longer to heal than eczema. However, the treatment of these
conditions are not different and revolves around the use of medicated shampoos.
